I love me some chapstick. I apply countless times throughout the day. Typically, I don’t have an addictive personality, but when it comes to keeping these lips moist, I am a waxy fiend. I’ve sold beanie babies that I stole from McDonald’s in a parking lot out of the back of my car, just to support my habit. No, wait; that was Dave… Nevertheless, I have come to terms with my addiction, and no longer look at this as a vice, but as a sidekick. A sort of Robin to my Batman.
Over the past few years, I have upgraded to the trendy and overpriced brand of Burt’s Bees. Particularly, I go for the honey while I know most opt for the original. To each his own. However, I have noticed with my present tube of golden goodness a deformity, the likes of which I have never noticed before. Burt’s Bees users, perhaps this is happening to you…
As you can see, this particular tube looks like it didn’t quite make it to the bunker in time when the bomb dropped. What happened? I can only imagine that in the current economic crisis, Burt is doing what every mindful business owner is doing: cutting corners and cheaping out on us! I am officially P-O’d! Where my 4 dollas going, yo? To cheap materials that can’t stand up to the heat of my front pocket? Since he’s riding shotgun to my Cell Phone, could it be all the text messages i get (i’m SO popular! ahem…) that are frying him? Is this chapstick Cancer?
