As promised, Batterymouth will be hitting the stage once again this Sunday opening for the Globber Girls at The Playground.  The show is at 10:00pm and is only $5 which is a ticket price so low that you can’t shake a stick at it.  Seriously, I dare you to find a stick and shake it at that $5 ticket price.  You can’t do it.  For reals.

So, if you made it out to our run at the Apollo Theater Studio, we hope you’ll come out to this performance and catch us again.  If you didn’t make it out to our previous run because you had things to do on Wednesdays, well, here’s your opportunity to catch us for the first time.

So, this Sunday.  10:00 pm.  The Playground.  Opening for the Globber Girls.  $5.  No stick shaking.

Thanks Everybody

This past Wednesday, we wrapped up our six week run at Chicago’s very own Apollo Theater Studio.  On behalf of Batterymouth, I want to give a big “thank you” to everyone who came out to catch us at any point during the run.  Thanks for supporting long form improv.  You’re awesome.

Speaking of being thankful to our audience, way to come up with some kick ass suggestions!  I’ve got to say, we got something unique and different every week, which gave us a lot of cool stuff to play with.  Here’s the list of suggestions, in order:

* Singing Telegram
* Venus
* Waffles
* Loose
* Carrots
* Treasure Troll

Yep, those are still awesome.

And, of course, thank you to all of the fabulous groups who opened for us throughout the run - The Fling, The Cosby Sweaters, Nipple Competition, Valid Hysteria and Salmon.  It really was humbling to be able to share the same stage as these guys and gals every week.

So, thanks again to everybody and be sure to keep checking out our website to see when we’ll be performing next.  I’m sure we’ll be adding some new performances in the next month or so, but in the meantime, next stop: Twin Cities Improv Festival.

Improv is nothing if not spontaneous.  So, in the spirit of that, the opening group for tomorrow’s show at the Apollo Theater Studio is changing and will now be Salmon!  While you might not know Salmon, you almost definitely know it’s improvisers - Pat Dwyer and Erin Pallesen of Kerpatty and Erin Rooney of Nipple Competition.  All three of these folks are hilarious separately, so you can imagine how funny they’ll be together - or maybe you can’t!  Maybe they’ll be so funny that you can’t even wrap your head around it.  There’s only one way to find out…

The show is still at 8:00pm, it’s still our last show of this run and we’re still going out to Irish Eyes afterwards.  So, come catch Salmon, come catch Batterymouth and help us celebrate the end of a great run!

This June, Batterymouth is going to be taking the show on the road to perform at the Twin Cities Improv Festival.  For those of you who don’t know, TCIF is an annual improv festival that takes place in Minneapolis, MN every year (hence, “annual”).  This year’s festival is taking place June 25th - 28th and it looks like there will be a nice long form Chicago improv presence there including some of our friends (The Cosby Sweaters) and some of our side projects (Tarantino: The Improvised Show).  We don’t know the exact date, time and location of our performance at the festival yet, but as soon as we know, you’ll know.  So, pack your bags and get ready for a Batterymouth roadtrip this June.

Cosby Sweaters Open for Us This Wednesday…

Well hello there everyone!  If you happened to miss The Cosby Sweaters opening for us earlier this month…no worries.  They will be back again this Wednesday for the fifth of our six show run at the Apollo Theater Studio.  We have had the privilege of sharing a number of different stages with The Cosby Sweaters throughout the past year or so, namely The Playground, and I just love the way that these guys play on stage.  We recently performed with them at Stage Left Theatre for some late night comedy with pH Productions.  The suggestion that night was…and I want to get this right…ahem…”wieners on the glass”.  The resulting show was raunchy, shocking, fast-paced, but most importantly…it was funny as all get out.  So skip Lost this week (see previous blog post here) and come on out to watch a night of uninhibited hilarium with our friends…the Cosby Sweaters.
